The power on the street, well that’s a whole other story. I never liked “just” dyno tunes, and as expected the tune was not as smooth to daily drive, so I have tamed it down a bit, but you would never know. It was really just some part throttle stuff, that needed cleaning up. It safe to say we are within 3-5% of our top number.. So a solid 260-270 is easily what we have here…
Supercharger NO LAG, quick spool... more efficient... No heat….more power!
Turbo kits are inherently restrictive on the exhaust side, and that robs a lot of power especially in a high compression engine. Plus they are very small compressors, so they require more time to spool boost, but also delivers less CFM over a given RPM. When you havea high compression engine, with a restrictive exhaust side you build ALOT of power robbing heat righ in the cylinder head, You generally need much more fuel to run those cars to keep the cylinder pressure down..... which is exactly were the Vortech shines... we move air in and out of this engine at a greater rate (and don't forget safer) than a ROOTS or TURBO...Which is why we make big power in all our kits... thus leading to fast cars... the lack of heat from the hot side just build more power... so our cylinder head temps stay down, and we make power....
Turbocharger Hmmm… Less CFM, More Heat, more restrictive, more spool time…Less power!
